Empress Redevelopment Project Updates: May 2017

JUNE UPDATE: We have a DESIGN and are going out to bid. A groundbreaking has been scheduled for June 26 at 3 pm.

APRIL UPDATE: With funds in place from the Wyoming Business Council, Laramie Main Street, the City of Laramie and Big Hollow Food Coop had a kickoff meeting in March 2017 with our contractor, GH Phipps and Arete Design Group, our architect team. We'll be finalizing exterior and interior design elements in April with groundbreaking scheduled for the first week of June!

A tentative completion date has been set for the end of December 2017 with Big Hollow moving into 112 S. 2nd Street in January 2018.

We are exploring setting up a website for internal and external communications, placing a webcam on the roof of the opposite building so that the public can watch our progress and taking site photos with a drone each week. Our goal is to be very communicative and transparent with the public, property owners and businesses in the area so everyone is aware of the process and remains excited about the end result.

Bolton Parking Lot

We are excited to let the community know that improvements to the Bolton Parking lot behind Coal Creek Coffee and Altitude are coming soon!

Re-striping is scheduled for the week of June 19.

The lot was CLOSED June 7 & 8 so that Fremont Electric could bore the lines for new electrical to the lights and the irrigation provision to the islands.

Please let Trey Sherwood, 307-760-3355 or Todd Feezer, 307-721-5260 know if you have any questions. We should have an update to you regarding the striping schedule around the 15th.

Thanks again to all our project sponsors: Harrison Wreschner, Sweet Melissa's, Altitudes, Lovejoy's, Birgit Burke, Laramie Vision Clinic, Rodger McDaniel, Steam Vapour, the Laramie Beautification Committee, the Laramie Rivers Conservation District, the Bent and Rusty, Mountain Valley Properties, Palatium and the Downtown Laramie Business Association.
