With a goal of telling the stories of the entrepreneurs that call downtown home, Laramie Main Street Alliance, in collaboration with Professor Phillip Goodwin, UW Department of English and Professor Bailey Russel, UW Photography launched a series of photo journalism and interviews focused on four questions:
What services and values do you bring to downtown Laramie?
What drew you to entrepreneurship?
Why are you based in Downtown Laramie?
What don’t we know about you?
UW students from the spring 2025 semester classes participated in the gathering of information and photos through interviews with downtown business owners. Businesses were chosen by the writers and photographers.
The goal of the campaign is to connect community through highlighting the proprietors of downtown to emphasize that our local businesses are owned by our neighbors who seek to serve our community. The campaign also celebrates that Downtown Laramie is a great place to live, work and play. When we choose to shop downtown Laramie, we are supporting our neighbors!
The 4Q campaign will highlight a different business each week leading up to Small Business Saturday on November 29, 2025.
